Dear WHEC Families,
As November begins, I want to share my gratitude for our wonderful school community. This season reminds us to appreciate the growth we see in our students and the support we receive from all of you.
This month’s Spartan Skill focuses on gratitude and giving back, encouraging kindness, empathy, and community spirit. Teachers will highlight these values through classroom lessons and activities.
Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for the end of November, providing an important time to celebrate your child’s progress and set goals for the months ahead. Our teachers look forward to connecting with you.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and commitment to our school. Your involvement—whether volunteering, attending events, or supporting learning at home—truly makes a difference. Together, we’re helping every child grow with confidence and curiosity.
Wishing you a warm and wonderful November.
Take care-,
Dr. Redcay

The Spartan Skills program at Wyomissing Hills teaches students life skills and practices. Each month there is a different skill that students will learn and practice. Staff will award Golden tickets for students displaying the skill of the month. During the Spartan Spirit assemblies, Golden tickets are picked randomly for a reward. All Golden tickets will be sent home at the end of each month so families can see what their students have accomplished!
November’s Spartan Skill is Gratitude.
We will be focusing on practicing gratitude, using our manners, and spreading kindness and appreciation.

This year, WHEC is excited to help every child grow their vocabulary! Through our Sparty Says vocabulary word of the week program, students learn a new word every Wednesday. Each word comes with a kid-friendly definition and examples of how to use it.
Throughout the week, teachers listen for students using the Sparty Says word in conversation. When a student uses the word correctly, they earn a ticket and a chance to be featured on our Sparty Says Wall of Fame! A new student is added to the wall each week.
Below is a list of November’s words. Keep them a surprise until their reveal each week—the mystery makes learning even more fun! At home, you can encourage your child to use the word, talk about what it means, and even try using it yourself!
November 5-11
- Startled
- Feeling surprised or scared suddenly
November 12-18
- Sincere
- Being honest and real about what you say or feel — you really mean it, not pretending or joking.
November 19-December 2
- Elated
- Feeling extremely or really happy

All volunteers must have current clearances on file and be approved by the School Board in order to volunteer directly with our students.
Complete the WHEC Volunteer Agreement and Confidentiality form and return it to the WHEC Main Office. We will not hold a monthly volunteer or Watch Dog training as we have in the past, but we ask that you review our agreement and expectations before returning the form.
Once those documents and clearances are on file and the Board of Directors has approved you, you can sign up for classroom opportunities and a day for our Watch Dog Dads (Stay Tuned for WatchDog Sign Up for the 2024-2025 School Year).
WATCH Dogs Dad Spotlight:
Mr. Retif honored Bow Tie Tuesday with Dr. Redcay as he spent time with his students, helping out in classrooms, and being a positive role modle for all WHEC students! Thank you Mr. Retif for being an awesome WATCH Dogs Dad!

The Student Assistance Program (SAP) identifies students who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, and/or academic difficulties which pose a barrier to learning and academic success.
There may be times when you do not know how to help your child. This is okay and someone else may know how to help. Contact your child’s school counselor or use this link to request the SAP process.
